CRPF Full Form

CRPF Full Form is the official name of the Central Reserved Police Force .The Central Reserve Police Force ( CRPF) has earned the distinction of being the largest of India's Central Armed Police Forces. It is under the direction of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) of the Government of India.

The CRPF's main responsibility is assisting the State/Union Territories in police operations to maintain peace, order, and law and combat insurgency. It has held the reins in anti-Naxal operations for the last five years, and has made significant achievements worth considering.

CRPF Full Form - A Brief History

CRPF was first established in 1939 as The Crown Representative Police in 1939 It is one of the oldest Central paramilitary forces (now known as Central Armed Police Force). CRPF was established in response to protests and unrest in the then Princely States of India following the Madras Resolution of the All-India Congress Committee in 1936 and the growing desire for the Crown Rep to help the vast majority of the indigenous States to maintain law and order as a component of the imperial policy.

After Independence, the organization was renamed Central Reserve Police Force by an Act of Parliament on December 28 1949. This Act was the first step in establishing CRPF as an armed police force of the Union. Sardar Vallabh bhai Patelwho was the Home Minister of the time, saw a broad role to it that was in tune to the requirements of a newly independent nation.

The CRPF Rules as envisaged in CRPF Act were framed in 1955, and were published in the Gazette of India dated March 25, 1955. Shri V.G.Kanetkar was appointed as first Director General of CRPF.since that time, it has been working Tirelessly to improve the quality of life in India an improved place and an abode of peace.
